Why Convert CSV to VCF?

CSV is how contact lists usually leave spreadsheets, CRMs, and email tools — but phones and address books want vCard. Converting CSV to VCF turns a spreadsheet of names, emails, and phone numbers into a file that Google Contacts, iPhone, Android, and Outlook can import directly.

Everything happens in your browser: your contact list is never uploaded to any server. For a file full of other people’s personal details, that privacy guarantee is the whole point.

Each row of your CSV becomes one vCard 3.0 entry, and all of them are combined into a single .vcf file for one-step import.

About CSV and VCF Formats

CSV (CSV)

CSV (Comma-Separated Values) is a simple text format for tabular data. Universally compatible with spreadsheets and databases.

VCF (vCard Contact File)

VCF (vCard) is the standard format for electronic business cards. Stores contact information like name, phone, email, and address.

Common Use Cases

  • Import an Excel or Google Sheets contact list (saved as CSV) into a phone
  • Move contacts exported from Mailchimp, HubSpot, or another CRM into Google Contacts
  • Convert an old Outlook CSV export for use on iPhone or Android
  • Turn event attendee lists into shareable contact files

Frequently Asked Questions

What column headers does the converter recognize?

First Name (also "first" or "given name"), Last Name (also "surname" or "family name"), Name/Full Name, Company/Organization, Title, Email, Phone (also "mobile", "cell", or "telephone"), Birthday, and Notes. Matching is case-insensitive and ignores spaces and punctuation, so "FIRST_NAME" and "First Name" both work.

What CSV format is required?

A comma-separated file with a header row. Quoted values are supported, so names or notes containing commas are handled correctly. Each row needs at least a first name, last name, or full name to become a contact.

Will all rows convert to contacts?

Every row with at least a name becomes a vCard. Rows with no name fields are skipped rather than producing empty contacts.

Is the CSV uploaded to a server?

No. The conversion runs entirely in your browser. Your contact list never leaves your device.

How do I get a CSV out of Excel or Google Sheets?

In Excel use Save As and choose "CSV (Comma delimited)". In Google Sheets use File → Download → Comma Separated Values. Then drop the resulting file here.
