Why Convert CSV to ICS?

Event lists start life in spreadsheets — schedules, rotas, fixtures, class timetables — but calendars want ICS. This tool turns each row of your CSV into a calendar event and bundles them into one .ics file that Google Calendar, Apple Calendar, and Outlook import in a single step.

It understands the column layout Google Calendar and Outlook use for CSV exports (Subject, Start Date, Start Time, End Date, End Time, All Day Event, Description, Location), as well as simple Summary/Start/End columns. Header matching ignores case and punctuation.

The conversion runs entirely in your browser — your schedule never touches a server.

About CSV and ICS Formats

CSV (CSV)

CSV (Comma-Separated Values) is a simple text format for tabular data. Universally compatible with spreadsheets and databases.

ICS (iCalendar File)

ICS (iCalendar) is the standard format for calendar events. Compatible with Google Calendar, Apple Calendar, Outlook, and others.

Common Use Cases

  • Bulk-add a sports season, class timetable, or staff rota to Google Calendar
  • Convert an Outlook CSV export for a calendar app that only takes ICS
  • Turn a shared Google Sheet of events into a subscribable calendar file
  • Migrate events between systems via a spreadsheet

Frequently Asked Questions

What columns does the converter recognize?

Subject/Summary/Title for the event name; Start Date (or Start/Date) plus optional Start Time; End Date and End Time; All Day Event; Description/Notes; and Location. Matching is case-insensitive and ignores spaces, so "START_DATE" works too. Only a start date is required.

What date formats work?

Common formats parse fine: 2026-08-01, 08/01/2026, or full ISO timestamps like 2026-08-01T10:00:00Z. Rows with unreadable dates produce a clear error naming the value rather than a silently broken calendar.

How are all-day events handled?

A TRUE/Yes value in an "All Day Event" column marks the event all-day, and rows with a date but no time are treated as all-day automatically. All-day events import as date-only entries, timed events as UTC timestamps.

How do I import the ICS file into Google Calendar?

Google Calendar settings → Import & export → Import, choose the .ics file and a destination calendar. Apple Calendar and Outlook open the file directly.

Is my event data uploaded?

No — the CSV is parsed and the calendar generated entirely in your browser.
